Christmas

We checked out some Christmas lights this weekend.  It was cold but this neighborhood festive cheer made up for the chill!

It was amazing how much work must go into each home's decoration.  Almost everyone home on a two block radius participates.  It was pretty neat!

Home Depot - Forklifts

I have no idea why we were at home depot... again... this weekend but Ahmad needed (had to have) some tool.  What that did mean... KAI got to check out the fork lifts.

The first photo I was held hostage with Kai checking out a parked fork lift... good thing Daddy came to the rescue not too long afterwards to help find a moving fork lift!

Grocery Shopping

Our little man loves to help out in anyway possible.  Here he is enjoying the weekend grocery shopping.  Of course everything is by self... Kai do it by self.

Kai at the Zoo

Kai is obsessed with the Zoo.  Good thing for us because we need an outlet for his energy on the weekend.  The SF Zoo, has a great petting zoo area where Kai is warming up to feeding and petting the goats as well as the most amazing playground.

Christmas Prep

We got our first large real christmas tree this year.  We were going to cut it down ourselves but it was cold (for CA) and went to the nearby christmas tree lot (profits go to a homeless shelter).  Kai picked out a great tree and helped us set up a new train set. 

He was just mesmerized by the train.  It was really neat for me to see as I grew up with remembering the train sets set out by my Pop Pop.  He loved playing conductor.  Ahmad of course had to buy five extra train cars to ensure we had the best train set!  

Thanksgiving

Uncle Chris came out with his girlfriend 'Holly' for thanksgiving.  Ahmad of course had to go over the top with the menu, we had a 18lb turkey and we would have had a full spiral ham ... it was enough to feed 20 people. 

Sliding Board

Kai is really into sliding boards right now.  Here Ahmad and Kai were playing in the school yard after pick up one day.  Check out how he says slid-ing- board... it is so cute.   Also, we noticed that he is a tad competitive.

Sandbox

Ahmad has gone and built Kai a sandbox in our backyard.  He has constructed it as only Ahmad can do... large and over the top!  Kai loves it.  During the building it was hilarious how Kai directed Ahmad to keep working... no breaks allowed!

Mommy's trip away

I had a last business trip within the US this year, it is the first business trip Kai really understood that one of us was not around.  Ahmad took this video for me.  I just loved it!

Kai Loves to Cook

Kai is such a little chef.  He just adores to help in the kitchen.  Here he is helping to shell farmers market fresh peas, followed by whipping up marshmallows for some rice crispy treats.

 

More Halloween Fun

Check out the little man on his first Trick or Treating adventure.  He was a monster who preferred to not wear his hat so mommy and daddy did.  We also met up with some friends and toured their neighborhood in San Francisco (with their little girl); hence yes, Kai decided to take a pink car along for the neighborhood tour.

Kai was nervous and caution at first but by the fourth house, he walked up and took a piece of candy.  

It was fun and I can not wait for next year.  

Imagination Parade

This year the school did an imagination parade where each House chose an author and then each classroom chose a book for costume inspiration.  Kai's room choose The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar and Kai was an orange!  The kids looked so cute, the teachers did a great job!

Spider Attack

Nonnie decorated the house with Halloween spooktacular decorations.  Here Kai was having too much fun chasing Ahmad with one of the spiders!

Loves Dirt

Kai loves playing in sand, rocks and dirt!  We found a spot In the yard where he can load his dump truck with dirt, leaves or twigs.  He plays here all day.  

Mixer, baker, Mr Breakfast Maker!

Kai helped mommy make waffles this morning.  He added the flour, sugar, oil, eggs and milk.  Then he stirred!  What a big helper!

Apple made my boo boo

Kai cut his hand last weekend when he was playing in the yard.  He slide down the grass hill.  The cut is small.  All week has been about how apple made his boo boo.  We think when he was eating apples the juice went into the cut and that was when he first noticed it.  It is quite cute as he points to his hand and tells everyone a apple made my boo boo or just apple boo boo.

Croup = No Fun

What a scary illness for our little man to get.  I hope he never experiences it again.  It started with a little cold and blew up from there.  We had an urgent care visit on Sunday and then back to the Drs on Tuesday.  All in all two rounds of steriods to help him breath.  It was nice Ahmad and I both could take off of work for the week to be there with Kai.  Here what else makes someone feel better but milkshakes (Daddy knows best!)

Shopping

Kai and Mommy went to the grocery store together.  He was such a helper.  He pushed the cart (mini cart) that carried his milk and yogurt.  The other shoppers got a real kick out of him.  

Mim and Pop come to town

We got a special visit of Mim and Pop.  They had some of the best gifts Kai has ever seen.  There was dancing and playing and showing off bellies... Ahmad and I are not sure how to go back to our routine after such fun!  Kai even got his first Hess Truck, a PA/ Demler/ Rakow tradition... this was a gift from Cindy's nephew... his Firetruck with fire chief's car.   Kai was besides himself with joy!

School Time Pick-up

Kai loves his new classroom. Its a room of only toddlers from 1.5mth - 2year olds.  They spend alot of time in the yard.  Here Ahmad is playing with Kai before it was time to go home!

Someone starting to talk

I wish I had more in-depth or 'sweet' sentences to share, but this was still quite hilarious.  Friends told me that he must go to school with some little girls.  Poor Ahmad...  but darn this little man is adorable!

Cyrus Cylinder

The British Museum has the Cyrus Cylinder on tour and lucky us it stopped by the Asian Art Museum in SF.  So, what parents would we be to not take Kai Cyrus to see it!  

This cylinder has sometimes been described as the 'first charter of human rights'
