Birthday Party #4

Finally, Sunday we had our first Birthday party for Fin.  We kept it a small affair with close friends.  The theme was balls and balls of rain poured down (the only freak rainstorm in months!).  I had a bubble machine, swimming pool of plastic play balls, ball toys and ball treats.  We served shimp, lobster and steak!  It was a huge hit!

Fin slept thru most of it... but here is what I was able to capture of the fun!

Birthday Part #3 (for the 3yr old)

I booked a play space (climbing space) for Kai's friend birthday.  Its one of his favorite spots to go when Nonnie 'plays hookie' with him on school days.  I got capped out on adults (and not kids) and we did not serve alcohol... who knew!? we'd be so popular!  The theme was dinosaurs as Kai for most of the year has been obsessed with Dinosaurs.  My favorite thing was probably the favors.  I had special colorful Dinosaur tails made for the kids.  I also included Dinosaur shaped crayons, Dinosaur egg dissolvable bath salts that yield little dinos, dino tattoos...

I loved it and I think so did Kai!  We had a mix of school friends and kids of friends, it went off pretty well!

Birthday Parties #1 and #2!

Our boys are turning 1 and 3!!  We did spiderman cupcakes for Kai's class and angle food cake cupcakes for Fin's.  I can not believe it, it went so fast but we had so much fun this year!  I am not understanding the daunting task of hosting two birthdays at once... its a lot of work!

Kai was not sure what to make of the singing but he did not cry and was so excited about the spiderman cupcakes.  Fin loved us with him at first but hid his head under the table and cried during the birthday song, then picked his head up and enjoyed his cake once we stopped.  Hilarious!

8 months old

Here he is, 8 months old!  I could barely get a shot with all the moving.

Happy 6mth Birthday

 Wait can you believe it, he is 6months old already.  He is growing fast and is oh so strong and such a happy little man.

The doctor was so surprised he could clap his hands already.  She also commented on how strong he was/ is.  It looks like we have another super special little man, of course!

Height/Length: 29" (Kai was this tall at 9mths)
Weight: 22lbs 5 ozs (Kai was this big at 1 year)
Head: 50cm (Kai's hit this mark at 1.5yrs)

He just turned four months and we could not be more excited.  While as big as a 8 month old, he is and will always be my baby!

For all that know me, know how much I LOVE my birthday or well birthdays in general but especially mine own!  This year was a semi milestone.  I spent it with these guys.  I felt so lucky to just cherish them for the day.  Thanks for making it special Kai and Fin!

Happy Birthday Kai (2 year old)

We celebrated Kai's birthday at school with carrot cake cupcakes.  I of course had to make the cupcakes to ensure not too much sugar was used and opted for cream cheese (straight) for the icing.  Ahmad and I came in during snack time to celebrate with his classroom.  All was going great until we began singing Happy Birthday.  Kai's face is priceless... all things were set straight when Ahmad gave up his cupcake to Kai after being traumatized by our singing.

Happy Birthday our boy!  We love you so much... you brought us so much joy!  We can not wait for the years to come.

Kai's First Birthday

Today Kai turns 1.  Wow!  So many people said we (as parents) survived, but I have to say we more feel like we thrived!  We were lucky to be blessed with a wonderfully happy little boy.

Our baby turns 10 months Old

Wow, what a treat, our little one is now 10 months old.  The photos are hard and hard to come by... someone is all about crawling!!

His stats:
Weight, height, etc are approximately what they were at 9mths BUT....

He cruises all along the furniture and even as of last weekend was standing by himself for a minute or so.  He is also starting to talk.  He says Bir (for Bird); daugh (for dog), Da Da, Wa Wa (for water) and Ba Ba (for bottle).   At daycare they have taught him sign language for more, all done and milk.  We just absolutely love it and our time with him!

Day 7: Birthdays

Everyone who knows me well knows, I love birthdays.  For Kai we celebrate every month!  To my 9 month old!  We love you!!!

Happy 2 months Birthday!

We celebrated Kai's two (2) month's birthday and of course we did it up!  It was combined with an early Easter Celebration!  I personally can not wait till the little man can color eggs and we hide easter baskets from the Easter Bunny that he must find.  In fact, up until this year, my mom still hid a basket for me… I guess this is a torch hand off… and I that is okay.

Our celebration dinner included Grilled Leg of Lamb, Cacio e Pepe and roasted veggies.  We cracked open one of the our special bottles of Spanish wine that I brought back from Madrid and was holding for a just an occasion.

We love having a new reason to celebrate!  Happy Birthday our little one!!

Jenn's Birthday

I have to start out and share that my favorite holiday is now Kai's Birthday.  I love birthdays, I think everyone should celebrate a day for themselves and for those who do not know me… My birthday was always my favorite holiday (yup I deem birthdays holidays).

This year we celebrated by doing a around the world tour of San Francisco. First up, Tartine Bakery where the croissants are said to be better than those in France! The crowds were out and more butter than imaginable was consumed but it was a great start. Next up a drive downtown to check out Macy's Brazilian flower displays! I love spring and Macy's did not disappoint. Finally, we hit up an early bird special at Suppenkushe (my favorite German restaurant).
