Man vs Beast begins

Kai, muscles and I took a walk this morning along Crissy Field.  It was a beautiful day.  Kai got a kick out of holding Muscles leash.  Muscles was not so excited about that... he is terrified of Kai!  It was cute.

Asian Art Museum and Nouruz Festivities

This weekend we celebrated a bunch of things.  On Saturday, we checked out the Asian Art Museum to see the Terra cotta Soldiers exhibit.  It was fascinating and Kai Loved seeing the large life sized Horses.  He pointed them out to everyone who entered.  

We specifically targeted the Museum this day as they also had some Persian New Year activities (Nowruz).  We enjoyed a silly Rumi show (while Kai slept) and then took Kai to the activity room to build a haft-seen.  For Nowruz, it is common to decorate a table scape with 7 items beginning with the letter S. Here the museum had a everything set up to allow Kai to build one for Home.  The most common and the ones Kai used were as follows:

1. Mirror - symbolizes Sky
2. Sabzeh (Wheat) - symbolizing Plants
3. Sir (garlic) - symbolizing medicine
4. Somaq - symbolizing sunrise (color of)
5. Serkeh (vinegar) - symbolizing old-age and patience
6. Senjed (dried fruit) - symbolising love
7. Sekkeh (coin) - symbolizing wealth and prosperity

Sunday at the Zoo

We took a trip to the Zoo this weekend.  We were excited to see how Kai interacted with the petty zoo animals with his new fond independence and walking.  It turned out he was scared to leave our side... that is our shy little man.  All in all it was a great time!  Check out the video of Kai on the merry go round.  He was a little nervous and liked it best when it ended and we checked out the Giraffe merry go round animal.  Next time we will sit with him.

My perfect weekend

I had the most perfect weekend with my little man.  He is becoming so independent!  here we are walking along Crissy field.  There were many people out having picnics and he enjoyed people watching and exploring.  It was also super cute as he giggled with pride at his grown up walking skills!
