Glamour Photos

One of the things I regretted with Kai was not getting newborn photos done.  At the time it seemed so hectic to get someone in within the first 2 weeks but as all things go with the second born... one seems so much more relaxed.  We had the photographer come in the day after coming home from the hospital.  I really love some of the shots.  Funny thing is Fin was so long and large that he barely fit in the 'props'.  Oh how his life will be.  (Spoiler: you will see one of these photos on our baby announcements... but I wanted to share now!)

First Bath

The first bath was traumatic for all involved.  Ahmad was washing Kai who just wanted to see baby Fin getting a bath.  I was just trying to wash Fin.  Fin hated the bath, he screamed and cried which made Kai cry and stressed Ahmad and I out.  The baths ended quickly.

But I captured Fin in an adorable shark towel robe.  He looked yummy!

Mim and Pop

Mim and Pop (the infamous duo) flew in to spend time with Kai and Fin!  Kai has so much fun showing off his toys, dancing skills, eating techniques and belly.  Its a house full of laughter we love it too!  Thanks Mim and Pop; we miss and love you!

Dr Visit (times 2)

Yikes, it seemed like such a good idea when I scheduled both Kai's 2 year check-up and Fin's 2 week visit... maybe though next time we will split the appointments.  It was a lot to handle and we had both of us there!!

Uncle Chris

Uncle Chris flew in to see Fin and Kai on his way back to the east coast from a snowboarding trip in Colorado.  Kai was besides himself... saying hi to Uncle Chris and commanding his attention everywhere they went.  While his visit was just a long weekend. we were so happy to have him out with us.  Unfortunately, I will have to search for some pictures of Kai and Uncle Chris to update on this posting later... my camera only had Fin and Uncle Chris shots!

Special time with Fin

We were really lucky this time around having my mom out to care for Kai so Ahmad and I could dedicate our time in the hospital to Fin.  It will be one of the rare occasions Fin will get the two of us with fully undivided attention.

It all started with a drive into the hospital at 6:00am to make our 8:00am c-section time.  Once at the hospital we discovered that they had moved the surgery to 1:50pm.  Not so much fun but it did allow us to go back home and have breakfast with Kai before he went off to school.

Happy Birthday Kai (2 year old)

We celebrated Kai's birthday at school with carrot cake cupcakes.  I of course had to make the cupcakes to ensure not too much sugar was used and opted for cream cheese (straight) for the icing.  Ahmad and I came in during snack time to celebrate with his classroom.  All was going great until we began singing Happy Birthday.  Kai's face is priceless... all things were set straight when Ahmad gave up his cupcake to Kai after being traumatized by our singing.

Happy Birthday our boy!  We love you so much... you brought us so much joy!  We can not wait for the years to come.
