Last days of Suma

The pool is back and open for business (its mini facelift complete) and just in time for the heat wave of September.  The boys took to the water like fish, enjoyed watermelon and the ladies enjoyed some bubbly.   Ahhh the life!

Swings

I swear my boy has shorts on

Fin can now sit and enjoy the swings.  He is far less afraid of trying new things than his older brother.  I think I should be afraid... While I know you may think he does not look like he is having fun, I swear he is... so much fun he passed out for nap on the spot!

Camping (Glamping)

Last weekend I was all set to send the boys off to a neighborhood camping event.. (long story, I will spare you...) anyhow, they did not get the chance to do it because of some lack of city coordination.  Fast forward to this memorial day weekend, Ahmad set out to camp with his son.  The boys picked a spot near the little play house and set up camp.  They cooked brats and hotdogs, watched a movie and tried smores and then read a story and went to bed.  Kai stayed outside all night.  The smile on his face in the tent shows his excitement and willingness to do it again.

25lbs Good Lord

I know right, not feeling well at home and Happy as can be in the DRs office.... 

Fin was not feeling so well, so I took him into the Dr's today.  He tipped the scales at 25lbs.  He is only 7mths old people!

I have been taking so many more videos these day.   So sorry for the bad photo, but the cuteness of this little man laughing should make up for it!

Academy of Sciences

This weekend we took the boys to the academy of sciences.  Nonnie has been raving about the science room upstairs, so up we went.  There were bones and stuffed animals (the real kind of stuff animals... what are those called.. oh well, i will look it up later)...  Fin got into the action after a nap and Ahmad with Kai looked at spider and bugs under the microscope.  

And yes, the city gets warm enough to wear shorts.. at least 3 times a year.

Birthday Party Fun

This weekend we had a birthday party in Golden Gate park for Elena.  The event was held a the playground next to the merry go round.

Trying to get a photo of everyone looking at the camera and then everyone smiling is next to impossible.

Kai likes to ride the stationary animals (the more ferocious the better).  Fin seemed to enjoy the moving horses and Ahmad well, lets say he like the music!

Nap Time

Princess napping!  He actually looks tiny here, I don't get a chance to say that all that often.  Oh how they grow up!

He is on the move

Its funny, our kids may never really crawl!  Kai was an army crawler, never got his knees up under him, the arm crawl across the floor worked well enough for him until he could pull himself up and cruise along furniture.  Now with Fin, he seems fine butt scooting.  Ahmad was helping him learn he could crawl but he seems happier moving this way.  It is early still but it would be funny to me if neither 'crawled' in the traditional sense.  I like it, they beat to their own drum and carve out what works best for them.  That is the best way to live life, my munchkins!

Expanding our options

This week we had the kids alone and so we ventured out on a week night for dinner.  There is a local mexican restaurant.  Fin had a container of homemade food and the options for Kai seemed safe.  It was good.  Kai loved dipping the chips in salsa and eating out.

I love every moment of raising these boys.  Each stage comes with surprises and it is all happening way too fast!

Bath Time

The night time routine is getting a bit easier for us.  Kai has fun in the tub, once coerced into taking a bath and Fin, well he LOVES the water!  Ahmad and I laugh that these boys have it nice, bath time involves a jacuzzi tub... its kinda like the sitcom that was around we were we little with Richie Rich (did i just date myself?).

Sunday Funday

This weekend we had the kids to ourselves, we did the park and then lunched at a local favorite spot.  I find it funny, we are never too sure what Kai will want to eat so we pretty much order one of all his favorites (soup, cheeseburgers, fries, pasta...).  Kai picked the table and sat in a grown up chair while Fin dined on homemade baby food.

Fin and I picked up an ice cream cone for Ahmad while Kai napped in the car... yeah, we are one of those parents.

Happy 6mth Birthday

 Wait can you believe it, he is 6months old already.  He is growing fast and is oh so strong and such a happy little man.

The doctor was so surprised he could clap his hands already.  She also commented on how strong he was/ is.  It looks like we have another super special little man, of course!

The Stats:
Height/Length: 29" (Kai was this tall at 9mths)
Weight: 22lbs 5 ozs (Kai was this big at 1 year)
Head: 50cm (Kai's hit this mark at 1.5yrs)

I got the best video from school today, it showed Fin rolling from front to back and back to front!  He is so advanced!
