For all that know me, know how much I LOVE my birthday or well birthdays in general but especially mine own! This year was a semi milestone. I spent it with these guys. I felt so lucky to just cherish them for the day. Thanks for making it special Kai and Fin!
Fin and Mommy took our first selfie. He is gonna keep us cool, right Fin!
However, in this photo I think Fin looks as though I am already embarrassing him. It could be that I am reading him a Halloween Bunny book... But hey, it's a Bunny and Easters around the corner... Close enough, huh?!
Fin is a lucky man he gets lots of helpful teachings from his big brother. We also are lucky to have tons of 2 year old help! The interactions never the less are so endearing and on occasion funny.
Like this morning Kai was saying good morning to Fin and holding his hand... That is until he left Fin's fingernails and let us know they are "shark, mommy; Fin's fingers are shark! Ouch!"
Here is another example: Kai reading Fin his favorite book (about cars and trucks no less).
Today we said good bye to size 1 diapers... I think I stretched it out longer than I should have. I guess I just felt I wanted a tiny baby for a little while even though Fin was born a 3mth old from the get go!
He is smiling and cooing and tracking... He definitely wins the cutest baby award! I am in love! Watch out world!
Kai got a new toy this week, a basketball net. He loves it! Check out his moves. But be warned "it is NOT OKay" if someone else wants to make a basket.
I got into St Patricks day a little this year. Both boys wore green; my Nana would be proud!
Also, this post let's me get up another awesome picture of Fin flashing a huge smile! As well, as showing off Kai in his "handsome" hairdo (ie letting us brush his hair).
Ps . Yes this is technically not green it's more to show off his cool pjs and handsome hair. I forgot to take a picture of him before we changed for bed.
Today Fin and I had the chance to explorer our new neighborhood. We walked to a great park with hiking trails. We found a really nice overlook to watch airplanes and the water.
Fin has his own urologist. We are monitoring an enlarged Kidney and an undescended testis. ON Tuesday we had his Radiology appointment to check on the status of all things.
The appointment went well. There are no new developments and will be coming back in three months. At that point we will have to see if the kidney corrects itself and if the testis makes it grand entrance. If no further progress we will proceed with additional procedures and operations.
I am not sure I have given Kai's kitchen proper attention here on this blog. The kitchen was the best Christmas gift, Kai loves making French toast or breakfast items for anyone who visits and of course for mom and dad. He also prepares a mean soup.
Here is the munchkin hard at work. PS. Check out those boots. Apparently, his wellies are require at all time, indoor and out and if he could for sleeping!
We watched the grizzlies feed on live fish, the sea lions get fed and lunched with Mim and Pop and heck Fin came along too!
Here on our way to lunch Kai pretended to be a peacock, butterfly and kudu. He was most interested in the puddle under the butterfly picture area. I mean why did he wear his rain boots if not to stomp in water puddles.!
As we had done with deciding on a name for Kai, we wanted to keep to our same principles in deciding on the right name for our second baby boy (important meaningful name with the right mix inspirational meanings and people).
Fin:
This name comes from the Persian Fin garden in Iran (Bagh-e-fin) completed in 1590 which is still open today and a UNESCO world heritage site. We were able to visit this garden on our Iranian trip and I was so impressed that the fountains and pools were constructed without the use of mechanical pumps but thru sheer engineering design.
Aran (Are-on):
Aran is the name of the town Ahmad's paternal grandfather was born and we choose it as a tribute to him.
