Dr Visit (times 2)

Yikes, it seemed like such a good idea when I scheduled both Kai's 2 year check-up and Fin's 2 week visit... maybe though next time we will split the appointments.  It was a lot to handle and we had both of us there!!

Uncle Chris

Uncle Chris flew in to see Fin and Kai on his way back to the east coast from a snowboarding trip in Colorado.  Kai was besides himself... saying hi to Uncle Chris and commanding his attention everywhere they went.  While his visit was just a long weekend. we were so happy to have him out with us.  Unfortunately, I will have to search for some pictures of Kai and Uncle Chris to update on this posting later... my camera only had Fin and Uncle Chris shots!

Special time with Fin

We were really lucky this time around having my mom out to care for Kai so Ahmad and I could dedicate our time in the hospital to Fin.  It will be one of the rare occasions Fin will get the two of us with fully undivided attention.

It all started with a drive into the hospital at 6:00am to make our 8:00am c-section time.  Once at the hospital we discovered that they had moved the surgery to 1:50pm.  Not so much fun but it did allow us to go back home and have breakfast with Kai before he went off to school.

Happy Birthday Kai (2 year old)

We celebrated Kai's birthday at school with carrot cake cupcakes.  I of course had to make the cupcakes to ensure not too much sugar was used and opted for cream cheese (straight) for the icing.  Ahmad and I came in during snack time to celebrate with his classroom.  All was going great until we began singing Happy Birthday.  Kai's face is priceless... all things were set straight when Ahmad gave up his cupcake to Kai after being traumatized by our singing.

Happy Birthday our boy!  We love you so much... you brought us so much joy!  We can not wait for the years to come.

Chatty Kai

OMG, has Kai's language kicked in... not only can he count to 10 and say his ABCs and spell his name... but he also has some great catch phrases.

• clean up all the bodies (this is said in a sing song voice as he cleans up)
• daddy doing
• my some (picture a head tilt as to woo you into giving him some)
• my self or by self (because he is independent)
• hippo Pee - U (apparently the trip to the zoo one weekend and seeing the hippo go to the bathroom left a major impact on him... he shares this with everyone)
• go away outside (not sure where he learned this but he commands you to go away outside if he is displeased with you or your actions... usually because it involves No-ing him)
