This weekend we headed down to LA to see Ahmad's grandma, Kai's great grandma. We decided to fly (1.5hr flight) instead of drive the 5 hour trek down. This turn out to be soo much more of a painful experience! It started off with Kai and I heading to the airport alone at lunch time Thursday. Ahmad had a meeting finishing up to close to departure for me to wait for him! We boarded our flight at 2:30pm ( great seats - bulk head up front). We sat waiting to taxi for 1.5 hour before they notified us they were going to de-board the flight to fix a part. We were told to come back at 5pm to find out the status...that 5pm check in was moved to 8pm and then finally at 7pm they cancelled the flight. Meanwhile they put us on the next flight, standby. We just missed that flight being 1 and 2 next for seats. We then rolled over to the next flight and the next... At the point we were going to leave the airport all together we found out Ahmad was given a seat on the 8:15pm flight... We held on and I too was finally given the last seat. One may wonder why we do not just leave up front but due to the fact we checked luggage, our luggage and checked baggage (stroller and car seat) was held hostage.
We boarded the flight, had a 30+ min take off delay before finally getting into LA at 10:18pm. We de-boarded waited for our checked baggage and walked to baggage claim for our regular suitcase and crib. I went directly to report lost luggage and found out all luggage made it to LA. We picked up our suitcase and crib but discovered somewhere they lost out stroller and crib after waiting another two hours getting the run around. I went to pick up our rental car during the back end of the run around to discover a long line there.... Finally we picked up loner strollers and carseats .. Packed up and headed to the hotel.
Our luck turned at check-in when they upgraded us to a suite! We cozier up Kai, ordered cocktails and some dinner at 1:30am and then headed to bed .
It's Sunday and our stroller and carseat is apparently going to be dropped off tonight... We check out tomorrow to fly home. We are upgraded and personally I hope this flight is 1000x less eventful!
We overall enjoyed our time in LA but I am in no rush to make this journey anytime soon! Kai will have to sell me on Disneyland as a trip to Disney World or Disney Paris/ Tokyo and a long haul flight seems so much appealing than what we just experienced.

that sucks! flying is so annoying at times. hope you guys are doing well.
